The Song Shack is catered to creative people. Music lovers are being equipped with everything they need to create original music, perform it, write it, release it and make dreams goals. From Songwriting Lessons, Talent Development to Artist Direction- we are ready for you!
Hi, I am Missy. I am the founder of The Song Shack. Here is a little about me...
I love working with hopeful artists, vocalists, performers, actors and songwriters. From acting and auditions, to recording original material or placing music in sync projects, I have actually witnessed dreams become GOALS! My own included.
I embrace opportunities to educate others on the power and potential of music and love to equip every music creator with the tools they need.
I have worked with hundreds of students and artists. This is an exciting journey!
I love what I do- I love the "accidental therapy" of songwriting and I LOVE these talented young people!
About our Founder- Missy
Missy is the go-to advocate for Songwriters. Missy has been a feature speaker on many professional music panels including some of the nations leading experts on music, such as Matthew Knowles, Kevin Jonas and Vicky Cleveland. She has had many students graduate music business colleges with honors, and she's worked with award winning Music Supervisors on several music projects for major motion pictures,. Many of Missy's artists have been on successful national tours, many with singles and albums having great success and millions of streams. She has worked on projects with Disney, AMAX, IMG among others, securing lucrative deals for those she works with.
Missy also has students and artists on national and international modeling campaigns and a couple with international brand sponsorships. Missy has had success placing music on major motion pictures, international ad campaigns and many other opportunities. She was one of the first "Women of Syncs" and has been a featured speaker at LA and Nashville Sync Workshops.
She worked on multiple A/R label projects, and was an in-project developer for multiple product collaborations. She truly is a jack of all trades. Missy's students and artists have found countless opportunities and success during, as well as after working with her. She is a results driven advocate for everyone she works with as well as a compassionate and loving woman.
She lives by her quote, "You are as accountable to your talent as you are privileged to it".
Missy loves everyone and her encouragement and vision cultivates a creative playground for anyone she works with.

what is sync?
Sync licensing, or “synchronization,” is the use of music in visual media such as TV, film, advertisements, trailers, or video games. It literally describes the “synched” pairing of audio and visuals.
In a narrow sense, the sync license specifies the negotiated terms of that usage: placement, permissions, payments, etc. It’s an agreement between the owner of the visual media and the owner(s) of the music.
But sync licensing has taken on a broader and more active meaning in the 21st Century. It’s become shorthand for the whole process of finding sync opportunities, pitching specific songs, negotiating terms, and getting paid.
Speaking of getting paid, sync licensing is one of the best ways for independent musicians to earn money while reaching new listeners — and it’s growing every year. In 2020, CD Baby licensed a wide range of music, generating $700k in sync fees (up 30% over 2019).

Ashton is a Master Vocal and Songwriting Coach from Berklee College of Music. He is a results driven teacher with a passion for growing every student and artist he works with. Aside from his accolades as a teacher, Ashton is a successful and grammy nominated Artist and Songwriter. He also has a background in Musical Theater and has been

Aside from his accolades as a teacher, Ashton is a successful and grammy nominated Artist and Songwriter. He also has a background in Musical Theater and has been on an international tour.
Ashton has performed with some of the biggest names in the industry, including Stevie
Wonder, Faith Hill, William Bell, Kirk Whalum, and many more. He has also graced the stage at
The Kennedy Center, The Orpheum Memphis, The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, FedEx Forum,
and countless other famous venues around the country. Ashton has done work for St. Jude,
Memphis Tourism, and the Memphis Grizzlies, while also lending his voice and songs to film
and television.
In his own words, Ashton states that he “wishes to keep alive the long, beautiful legacy that
Memphis has had on the music community.”

Chandlers specialties are vocal training, songwriting, and performance polishing.
Chandler was a special music guest at TSAI (Tennessee songwriters association international). She was also a Publishing Assistant for International Music Business Forecast Conference in 2017, located at the Winery Nashville. Chandler also takes pride in having been a performance polishing coach for multiple touring artists.
She is dedicated to making progress, and bringing dreams to reality. She's excited to watch all The Song Shack students grow as musicians, grow personally and achieve their dreams.
